Rumors about the upcoming 2019 Ford Explorer model will no longer be ignored now. We hope there will be no major changes to the Explorer display for 2019. However, given it’s already stylish and gets a light tweak for 2018, buyers should not object to the same appearance. We can see some minor changes to the choice to keep things fresh, like new colors, wheels, and packages, but there is no official thing about this.
2019 Ford Explorer Release & Price Date
There has been no official release date, previous years made us believe that 2019 Explorer will arrive in the fall of 2018. Official prices are also not included, but for the current model the MSRP ranges from $ 32,985 to $ 54,935 (including destination fees).
We expect the same thing to prove right in the cabin, because Explorer 2019 should be almost indistinguishable from the 2018 model. Like the exterior, we can see some minor updates on its features, such as new infotainment options, updated colors, and materials different, but nothing might be seen by ordinary car buyers.
2019 Ford Explorer Interior & Exterior
Five base Explorer models are offered, Explorer XLT, Explorer Limited, Explorer Sport, and Explorer Platinum. And as already said, Ford has not confirmed or rejected the possibility of the Hybrid model. And again we can still see the introduction of a new model or complete termination of an existing one. So this seems like an exciting journey initiated by Ford. Details, as mentioned, will be added when we continue.
Apart from the trim models offered, we also mentioned how we liked the Explorer Sport model. So a number of reasons why we recommend it include a powerful V6 engine, heated and ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, folded third row seats, nine-speaker sound system, enhanced Sync 3 interface, tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel power, and adjustable power pedals. One can also pay more money to end with the Platinum Explorer – top-dog trim in terms of luxury features and overall performance.
Exterior colors include Blue Jeans Metallic, Silver Metallic Ingots, Metallic Ridge Canyon, Shadow Black, White Gold Metallic, Smoked Quartz Metallic, Ruby Red Metallic, and Canyon Ridge Metallic.
2019 Ford Explorer Engine & Specs
Much of what lies under the hood remains a mystery so far. But most sources say that all three engine options may not change for the 2019 model. In such a scenario, we should therefore expect 280 horsepower – to produce an EcoBoost 2.3L 4 cylinder engine, 365 hp-produce 3.5L EcoBoost V6, and 290 horse dealer – produces a naturally aspirated 3.5L V6 engine.
For a little more excitement, Ford offers the Explorer Sport and Platinum with a twin-liter 3.5-turbo V6 that cranks out 365 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. We hope that all versions of Explorer will continue to come with a six-speed automatic transmission.
While Explorer ticks many boxes for buyers, security is an area where struggle. IIHS safety testing places this on a screen with “Marginal” security in a small overlapping test. Each version of Explorer, however, has a front collision warning available with automatic emergency braking, but IIHS does not test this system. With no changes to the structure, we hope all ranks remain the same.
