You’ve never watched a chase scene in the movie “Bullitt,” in 1968, you lost a major milestone in the history of filmmaking. The Oscar winning film chase sequence rewrites the time rules, uniting Steve McQueen’s stars as men of perfect automotive automotive lovers, and Fastback Dark Highland Green ‘68 Ford Mustang GT which he drives as an iconic film car.
Starting in 2001, Ford Motor Company was built with the value of “Bullitt Mustang.” That was the year when the company created the first Mustang Bullitt tribute car, following it in 2008 and 2009 with another version.
Now, the third salute to the 1968 movie car arrived to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the film. It debuted in 2018 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, joined the stage by one of two original 1968 Mustang Fastback car films, was rediscovered after 40 years and wore an unmistakable patina.
2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt exterior, interior
“This new bullitt, like Steve McQueen, is very cool,” said Darrell Behmer, Mustang’s chief designer, on the car’s debut. “As a designer, this is my favorite Mustang without lines, spoilers and badges. No need to shout about anything that’s cool. “
Cool, indeed. The ighlight exterior includes chrome trim around a unique black grille and front window, 19 inch “thrust torque” wheel design, red painted Brembo brake caliper brakes, and a fake gas cap on the back with the “Bullitt” logo. Dark Highland Green paint is the best, but not a necessity. Shadow Black is another color choice.
To build a new 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt, Ford started with GT equipped with Premium trim. That means the car is equipped with a ventilated, leather-wrapped heated front seat, heated side mirror, dual-zone automatic climate controller, infotainment Sync 3 system, ambient cabin lighting, and enhanced interior material throughout.
The Bullitt model adds a unique green stitch on the seat, dashboard, door panel, and center console. The car also has a 12 inches digital instrumentation cluster with a special Bullitt welcome screen, and heated steering wheel.
Feature choice : Three upgrades offered for new 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt.
The first is the MagneRide adaptive damping suspension that provides a smooth ride on the highway coupled with resilient handling on your favorite back road. Or the streets of San Franciscso. Whatever.
The second is a set of Recaro performance seats, which is useful if you are involved in a fight with well-dressed businessmen driving a black Dodge Charger.
The third is Bullitt’s Electronic Package, which adds a navigation system, a premium sound system, a blind spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic warning, and memory for the driver’s seat and mirror.
2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt engine, specs
To make 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt even more impressive, Ford upgraded the 5.0-liter V8 engine to the Open Air Induction System, as well as the intake manifold, 87mm throttle body, and the powertrain control module of the hot-to-trot Shelby GT350 Mustang. The result, according to Ford, “at least” 475 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. torque.
Ford does not provide acceleration times of up to 60 mph, but the company claims a top speed of 163 mph, which is better than the maximum speed of 155 mph stock GT. A GT stock can reach 60 mph in four seconds, but it takes 10 automatic accelerations.
The Bullitt, by all accounts, only comes with a 6-speed manual transmission that features a classic white ball shift button. Ford didn’t mention the 10-speed automatic transmission available for Bullitt, so you shouldn’t expect it. Learn to pedal your own gear, instead, like Steve McQueen.
The Bullitt is also equipped with a retuned version of Ford’s performance exhaust system that is active for classic burble. NitroPlate Black Tip specifically organizes this special edition of the separate Mustang.
Ford’s GT Performance Package is also standard, and includes a long list of structural, suspension, steering, braking and tire lifts. There is no doubt that the new Mustang Bullitt will truly dominate all Chargers R / T to cross the road.

Unfortunately, Ford Safe & Smart option package, which contains more driver assistance and collision avoidance technology, is not offered to Bullitt. The standard 3 Infotainment Sync system includes satellite radio, the integration of smartphones that support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and with Electronic Package adding navigation and 12-speaker Shaker Pro audio systems. Two smart USB charging ports are standard.
All Mustangs are equipped with a Track Application, which allows owners to refer to key performance metrics in instrumentation. Electronic line-lock (for burnouts) and Launch Control (for fast acceleration) are also standard.
