2019 Ford Transit Connect – Exterior and Interior

Outside, the most significant change is the front styling. Everything in front of the windshield is new, presenting a more modern look to the Ford minivan. Practicality is guaranteed thanks to the double sliding door, the choice between the rear lift door and the cargo door that opens 180 degrees, and the roof rail can be installed with many accessories.

Inside, the new dashboard greets the driver, and is available with a new 6.5 inches floating touch screen infotainment system. The new driver information system is located in instrumentation. The standard wheelbase version provides seating for five people, while an extended wheelbase variant can carry up to seven passengers. Ford said that the first and second row seats were upgraded for greater comfort. If you fold the second and third row seats, the extended model has more cargo space than Chevrolet Tahoe, according to Ford.

2019 Ford Transit Connect – Engine and Performance

The new drive is part of improvements to Ford Connect Connect 2019. Standard equipment includes a direct-injected 4 cylinder engine, a new 2.0 liter with automatic start / stop technology. The available 1.5 liter 4 cylinder EcoBlue engine is expected to reach 30 mpg on the highway. Both engines are paired with automatic drives and a new 8 speed front wheel. When equipped with an optional towing package, Transit Connect will handle up to 2,000 pounds of trailers, according to Ford.

2019 Ford Transit Connect – Technology and Security

Every 2019 Ford Transit Connect will include a standard 4G LTE Wi-Fi connection. Sync 3 Setup is available, offering Ford + Alexa mobile assistance technology and, soon, the Waze traffic routing application. Transit Connect will also offer wireless device charging.

Other significant improvements to the new Transit Connect are related to safety. Reportedly, Ford has made changes designed to improve the accident protection of overlapping small frontal collisions. However, it’s always better to prevent collisions from happening in the first place, and for that Ford offers a long list of new driver assistance and accident avoidance systems.

Standard equipment includes front collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking. Available upgrades include adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic warnings, lane departure warnings, and lane keeping assistance.
